Another thing to consider is having higher windows and doors installed. A large window or door will give the illusion of a bigger room, especially when it can be opened out into another area.

Bifold doors are the perfect example of this as they don’t need any space to pull out into but they can fully fold back and open up to create the illusion that your space is nice and open, making it appear much bigger.

Use your walls

If your walls are quite a dark colour then chances are this is making your room look a lot smaller. Try painting your walls a lighter colour and adding a pop of colour by having a feature wall, whether this is just one colour or patterned wallpaper.

You can also hang mirrors up on your walls, they will reflect the room and give the illusion of a bigger space.
