What's your process for quoting and installation?

We start with an initial quote, followed by a site survey. We then provide a detailed quote. Upon acceptance and a 50% deposit, we manufacture your products (4-6 weeks lead time) and schedule installation. The remaining payment is split into 40% before fitting and 10% upon completion.

We offer a wide range of windows including uPVC, aluminium, and timber-effect options. Our styles include casement windows, flush casement, sliding sash, bay windows, and tilt & turn windows. We specialise in heritage-style and Timberlook uPVC windows.

How secure are your windows?

Security is a top priority for us. Our windows are fitted with multi-point locking systems and toughened glass options. They meet or exceed industry standards for security, giving you peace of mind.

Do you offer windows suitable for period properties?

Yes, our heritage-style windows are perfect for period properties. They combine traditional aesthetics with modern performance, allowing you to maintain your home's character while enjoying the benefits of contemporary windows.

What's the difference between uPVC and aluminium windows?

uPVC windows are cost-effective, low-maintenance, and offer good insulation. Aluminium windows are sleeker, stronger, and ideal for larger glass areas. They're also highly durable and can be more suitable for modern architectural styles.

How long do your windows typically last?

With proper care, our windows can last 20-30 years or more. uPVC windows generally last around 20-25 years, while aluminium windows can last 30-40 years. We offer warranties to back up the longevity of our products.

Can your windows help reduce outside noise?

Yes, our windows are excellent for noise reduction. The double or triple glazing, combined with the quality of our frames, creates an effective barrier against outside noise, significantly improving the acoustic comfort of your home.

What types of doors do you offer?

We offer a wide range of doors including uPVC, aluminium, composite, and timber-effect options. Our selection includes entrance doors, bi-fold doors, sliding patio doors, French doors, stable doors, and internal doors.

What's special about your composite doors?

Our composite doors combine the best of both worlds - the look of a traditional wooden door with the durability and security of modern materials. They're highly secure, energy-efficient, and require minimal maintenance while offering a wide range of design options.

Are your bi-fold doors suitable for all homes?

Bi-fold doors can be a great addition to many homes, particularly those looking to create a seamless indoor-outdoor living space. We offer both uPVC and aluminium bi-fold doors to suit different architectural styles and budgets.

How secure are your doors?

Security is paramount in our door designs. All our doors come with multi-point locking systems as standard. Our composite doors, in particular, are renowned for their robust security features, meeting or exceeding industry standards.

Can I customise the colour and style of my new door?

Absolutely! We offer a wide range of colours, styles, and finishes for all our doors. From traditional wood-grain effects to contemporary bold colours, you can customise your door to perfectly match your home's aesthetic.

What are the benefits of aluminium doors?

Aluminium doors are sleek, strong, and ideal for creating large glazed areas. They're highly durable, low-maintenance, and offer excellent thermal efficiency. Our aluminium sliding doors are particularly popular for their modern aesthetics and smooth operation.

Do you offer energy-efficient door options?

Yes, all our doors are designed with energy efficiency in mind. They feature high-quality materials and construction techniques that provide excellent insulation, helping to keep your home warm in winter and cool in summer.

What's the process for measuring and fitting a new door?

We start with an initial consultation and quote. If you proceed, we'll conduct a detailed site survey to get precise measurements. We then custom manufacture your door and schedule a convenient time for professional installation by our experienced team.

What is an orangery?

An orangery is a home extension that's similar to a conservatory but with more solid walls and a flat roof with a glass lantern. Originating from the 17th century, modern orangeries blend the light and airiness of a conservatory with the solidity and comfort of a traditional extension.

How is an orangery different from a conservatory?

While both add light and space to your home, orangeries typically have more brickwork and a flat perimeter roof with a central glass lantern. This structure often makes orangeries feel more like a seamless extension of your home compared to a conservatory.

Are orangeries energy-efficient?

Yes, our orangeries are designed with energy efficiency in mind. We use high-performance glass, well-insulated roofs, and thermally efficient frames to help maintain a comfortable temperature year-round, potentially reducing your energy bills.

Can I use my orangery all year round?

Absolutely! Our orangeries are designed to be comfortable spaces throughout all seasons. The solid roof and walls provide better insulation than a traditional conservatory, keeping the space cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

How long does it take to build an orangery?

The construction time can vary depending on the size and complexity of the project, but typically it takes between 3-5 weeks. We'll provide a more accurate timeline after assessing your specific requirements.

Do I need planning permission for an orangery?

In many cases, orangeries fall under permitted development rights and don't require planning permission. However, this can depend on factors like the size of the orangery and your property's location. We can advise you on planning requirements during our initial consultation.

Can you match the orangery to the style of my home?

Absolutely! We pride ourselves on creating orangeries that complement and enhance your existing home. From traditional designs to match period properties, to sleek, modern styles for contemporary homes, we can tailor the orangery to suit your home's architectural style.

What's the difference between a roof lantern and a skylight?

A roof lantern is typically a larger, more architectural feature that protrudes from a flat roof, often with multiple glazed sections. A skylight is usually a single, flatter pane of glass installed flush with the roof. Both bring natural light into your home.

Are your roof lanterns and skylights energy-efficient?

Absolutely. We use high-performance glass with excellent thermal properties. Combined with our well-insulated frames, this helps to minimise heat loss in winter and reduce solar gain in summer, contributing to your home's overall energy efficiency.

Can roof lanterns and skylights be opened for ventilation?

Yes, we offer both fixed and opening options. Opening roof lanterns and skylights can provide excellent ventilation, helping to regulate temperature and air quality in your home. Some models can even be fitted with automatic opening mechanisms.

How do you ensure these products are weatherproof?

Our roof lanterns and skylights are designed and tested to withstand various weather conditions. They feature high-quality seals and drainage systems to prevent leaks, and the glass is toughened to resist impacts from hail or falling debris.

Do roof lanterns and skylights require much maintenance?

They're relatively low-maintenance. The glass is often self-cleaning, and the frames just need occasional wiping down. We recommend an annual check to ensure all seals and mechanical parts (for opening models) are in good condition.

Can you install roof lanterns or skylights in existing roofs?

In most cases, yes. We can retrofit roof lanterns and skylights into existing flat or pitched roofs. However, this will depend on the structural integrity of your roof. We'll assess this during our initial survey.

How long does installation typically take?

The installation time can vary depending on the size and complexity of the project. A simple skylight might be installed in a day, while a large or complex roof lantern could take 2-3 days. We'll provide a more accurate timeline after assessing your specific requirements.
